The above card programmes are also available as private label programmes. The external features are oriented around the previous closed loop cards, generally there is no system mark (Visa or MasterCard logo) on the cards. This makes sales to target groups possible, for those for whom the open loop function doesn’t stand in the forefront, for example, within shopping centres, for insurance customers or as membership cards. Using magnetic strips and/or chips, private label cardholders can carry out open loop transactions anytime at ATMs or trained POS acceptance points as well as over the internet.
